Our rooms

Winnersh is a purpose built, dementia friendly, innovative residential care home, which has been developed to allow freedom of movement throughout. We offer personalised and tailored care to meet all of your needs deliver by our friendly, professional and caring team of staff who are dedicated to exceeding your care expectations.

Our rooms have been designed with our residents in mind; we have 60 en-suite bedrooms, each with a brightly coloured door complete with letterbox and street lamp. In your room, you’ll find specialty furniture that’s been designed to create easy access to your clothes and locate your items quickly.  We encourage you to bring our favourite pieces of furniture, maybe your favoured armchair, treasured photos, special ornaments or pictures for your walls, to make you feel right at home.

Communal spaces

Although each room is en-suite with a wet room and shower, you will discover separate spa-bathrooms with sensory lighting and the technology to play your favourite relaxing music. We also have a beauty salon, library, communal and private lounges, cinema, shop and café that you can use at your leisure with your family and friends too. Additionally, for residents and families who wish to get creative in the kitchen, we have an independent kitchen where you can cook and bake together.

Our large, peaceful garden features a sensory garden and we have a wonderful rooftop terrace; lovely places to explore or spend a quiet moment relaxing including Nester's Nook which is a lovely area dedicated to one of our residents. We recently built two summerhouses so you can enjoy your activities and hobbies throughout the year, and have a fun area with a climbing frame, for younger visitors, with ample seating so you can enjoy watching them play.

Activities and events

We have lots going on here at Winnersh from crosswords and exercise classes to visiting animals! Here are a few of the activities we have planned over the next few months:

    • Morning crosswords and quiz
    • Catchphrase
    • Fitness sessions
    • PAT dog visiting
    • Music group
    • School days reminiscence
    • Get fit while you sit
    • Art and crafts
    • Gardening club
    • Library box reminiscence
    • Country and western extravaganza

Whilst we encourage everyone to join in, we understand that some residents may wish to do their own activities or hobbies in a quieter space.

Food

Mealtimes are important here at Winnersh as it is a time where everyone comes together to enjoy some delicious home-cooked food. We offer two meals daily which are freshly made by our chefs. Our residents are involved with the menu choice which gives us the opportunity to make food that suits everyone.

We like to celebrate all special events such as the King's Coronation, resident birthdays, Easter and Christmas and theme our meal choices for the occasion.

If you enjoy something sweet you should pop into our dining areas that serve hot drinks and delicious cake!
