Website help
This section will answer any questions or queries you may have about the Abbeyfield website. Click on a question to be taken to the answer.1.How do I use this website?
2.My computer is having difficulty displaying a page - what can I do?
3.When I print a page, why don't all the colours print out?
4. The text size is too small and I can't read it properly - is there anything I can do?
The Abbeyfield website is designed to be easy to use. There are 8 links to the main sections in the main navigation bar - located at the top of the page in the form of orange tabs. When you click one of the tabs it will take you to your chosen section and turn blue to show you which section you are currently viewing.
Underneath the main navigation bar is the sub-navigation bar (coloured blue). This contains the sub-links and a 'bread crumb trail'. The sub-links will take you to other important sections of the Abbeyfield website. Whilst the bread crumb trail will indicate which page you are currently viewing on the website (by showing it in orange) and where you are in the site: white text links will take you to corresponding pages.
At any point you can click the white 'Homepage' link (always located at the top left of the blue navigation) to return to the homepage where you can view other pages or start again.
Firsly you should try clicking the 'Refresh' button in you browser window.
You could inform us of the problem you are having by using our website feedback form, or you could email us (don't forget to tell us what operating system and browser you are using).
To rectify this, go to your Internet Options and tick the box that says 'Print background colours and images'. You may need to refresh/reload your page before you print again.
In Internet Explorer select Tools>Internet Options, click the Advanced tab and then scroll down to the 'Print background colours and images'. Tick this box and then click on OK.

Providing your computer will support this function, you can change the size of the screen fonts by doing the following:
Windows: Right click on the desktop, select properties and then choose the settings tab. You will then need to click the 'Advanced' button. Select the general tab (if it is not already selected) and change the 'Font Size' drop down menu to 'Large Fonts'. Now your computer will display all screen fonts in a larger size.
If you would prefer to change the size of your screen fonts in your Internet browser software only, and not for the rest of your computer, you can do the following: Go to the 'View' menu in you browser software, and select your preferred text size.
