Gilbert has been a resident at Sycamore House for five years. He is an avid supporter and previous season ticket holder at both Nottingham Forest and Nott’s County football clubs. Thanks to Deputy Manager, Jasmyne, Gilbert was able to meet Nathan Tyson, an English professional footballer who has played for both teams!

The black and white Cröllwitzer turkeys owe their lives to House Manager, Paula who had ordered a free-range turkey for the house’s Christmas table. But as time went on, decided she wanted to give the turkey a pardon and have it as a pet instead to join the house’s menagerie.
They say good things come in threes... three wise men, three gifts, three course meal. Well this year Abbeyfield has hosted three brilliant carol services across the country with the last being held in St Albans Cathedral.
Residents, volunteers, trustees and staff gathered together last week to celebrate the beginning of Christmas at our annual carol service at Liverpool Cathedral. Held each year in the Lady's Chapel, our congregation enjoyed traditional hymns and readings followed by some sweet treats and mulled wine.
