Abbeyfield, New Malden are looking to recruit Night Senior Care Assistants who can demonstrate compassion and empathy in their approach to caring for older people, either through previous roles in social care or in other roles.
New Malden accommodates 36 residents in 36 single en suite rooms. Established in 1999, it is purpose built and recently refurbished. We're a short drive away from the wonderful New Malden High Street, close to bus stops and the train station is 1.5 miles away.
We will support residents in making their own decisions about how they want to live their life. We recognise the importance of maintaining relationships with family and friends and we support residents in pursuing hobbies and interests by offering a variety of activities from in house entertainment to regular outings.
We understand each person’s needs differ so at an Abbeyfield Dementia Care Home our staff offer a personalised approach to care giving, with security, independence and happiness at the heart of what they do.
Closely supporting the Home Manager, you will actively participate and supervise in the delivery of care to the residents, ensuring that their physical, social, intellectual and emotional needs are met. Responsibilities will include overseeing all the resident care plans in line with their preferences and assisting in the safe control of medication to residents.
Extensive previous care experience in a similar role in registered care setting, together with an NVQ2 and/or working towards NVQ3 or equivalent is essential. The ideal candidate must be an excellent communicator, good organiser and have the ability to work flexibly, both using their own initiative and within a care team.
To you, it’s more than just a job. It’s a role where you happily go the extra mile to make a difference to the lives of older people.
