At Abbeyfield we aim to support residents to live independently providing two freshly cooked meals per day. You will be responsible for cooking, resident plans, supporting activities and fundraising as part of the team. All training will be given and you will have regular supervision, reporting to the House Manager.
Hale Court is a 19 flat independent living service in Tunbridge Wells for residents over the age of 55. The cook is responsible for preparing a two course meal which is served to residents in the communal dining room at 1.00pm
The staff team at Hale Court is small and friendly and work well as individuals and part of a team.
You will be responsible for the preparation of fresh, locally sourced food on site in our commercial kitchen. You will be preparing food for between 15-24 residents and staff following a 4 weekly summer or winter menu. You will work with the cook to ensure stock rotation and sufficient supplies are purchased to meet the requirements of the service. You will be required to keep the kitchen clean and wash up. You will need to have or be prepared to completed a Level 2 in food hygiene and maintain standards in line with Safer food, better business.
The successful candidate will have an understanding of the needs of older people, experience of working with the public and an ability to work on own initiative. But above all, you care as much as we do and you’re passionate about making all the difference for older people.
