Kitchen Assistant, North Weald, Epping

We are looking for a Kitchen Assistant at Cunningham House to join our team. They will ensure that a consistently high standard of kitchen cleanliness and food preparation is displayed at all times within the home to ensure all residents needs are fully met.

Salary: £9.00 per hour.

Hours: 10 hours per week.

Cunningham House is located in a village in North Weald Bassett, Essex. We are based just on the outskirts of Epping Forest. Our nearest City is Chelmsford. The house has 54 bedrooms, 33 of which are en-suite.

You will assist in providing healthy and nutritious food for our residents. By keeping all kitchen and store areas clean and hygienic and following all hygienic practices you help protect our residents and keep them safe.

You are an asset to your team and your impact reaches beyond the kitchen. There are plenty of opportunities for you to get to know our residents, enhance their meal time experience and develop your hospitality skills.  When residents choose Cunningham House, Melanie and her team of highly trained and motivated staff believe that they are choosing a lifestyle. This starts with them choosing how they wish to be cared for and supported, and choosing the activities they wish to be involved in. Whether it be enjoying peace and quiet in one of our libraries, choosing to take part in one of our exercise classes with our Personal Trainer, or taking part in one of the many outings that are arranged away from the house.

Meal times are really important to our residents and your role is crucial to making them as enjoyable as possible. You are committed to maintaining the highest standards in the kitchen, during the food preparation process and meal delivery. You therefore manage the cleaning procedures and schedules for the kitchen in line and even exceeding the relevant Environmental Health standards and those expected by the Cook

The successful candidate will have a good understanding of the needs of older people, experience of working with the public and an ability to work under their own initiative. A Food Hygiene Certificate qualification would be desirable but above all you must care about making a difference to the lives of older people as much as we do.
