We are looking to recruit a part time Housekeeper in Cambridge to assist the running of the house on a daily basis.

Location: 25 Sherbourne Close, Cambridge, CB4 1RT

Salary: £9.00 per hour

Hours: 12 hours per week 

Abbeyfield are looking to recruit a Housekeeper for their House in Browns Field House, offering supported living for older people.

At Abbeyfield we aim to support residents to live independently providing two freshly cooked meals per day. We work with volunteers to be part of the local community with fundraising activities, open days, garden parties and supporting the Oxfordshire team with larger events.

You will be responsible for cooking, resident plans, supporting activities and fundraising as part of the team. All training will be given and you will have regular supervision, reporting to the House Manager. You will work as part of the team to raise Abbeyfield’s profile in the area.

The successful candidate will have an understanding of the needs of older people, experience of working with the public and an ability to work on own initiative. It is essential that you are a competent cook and a Food Hygiene Certificate qualification would be desirable. But above all, you care as much as we do and you’re passionate about making all the difference for older people.

Browns Field House is a purpose built home for up to 28 older people. The house is situated in a quiet residential area of Cambridge.  At Browns Field House we deliver a service which is tailor made to meet everybody’s individual needs. We provide 24 hour care for older people who may experience hearing or visual impairment or people who have conditions such as Dementia, Parkinson’s, Stroke or mental health problems.
