Hourly Rate: £10.00 per hour
Hours: 14 Hours Part Time
The main tasks include ensuring that the day to day repairs and maintenance of the building and its environment are maintained. This will include painting and decoration to residents’ rooms, keeping the grounds and garden tidy as well as completing regular checks and minor maintenance to all specified equipment on a regular basis, contact nominated contractors for repairs and servicing as agreed with the Care Home Manager. You will demonstrate compliance with abbeyfield policies and procedures and follow appropriate procedures in the event of accidents or emergencies.
Check all lighting, including residents rooms, and lighting inside and outside the home, replace bulbs and report any electrical faults to the Care Home Manager
Understand and observe all relevant regulations and Abbeyfield policies and procedures
To follow appropriate procedures in the event of accidents and emergencies, maintain confidentiality at all times, be aware of and comply with safe working practices as laid down by the Health and Safety at Work Act
To attend staff meetings and training as required. To carry out any reasonable duties as requested by the Care Home Manager
Ability to read and write to a good standard, as well as good communication and interaction skills are essential. Previous maintenance or DIY experience is required as well as being able to ensure that all aspects of the role are consistently carried out to a high standard. Candidate must also be a self-starter and able to work on own initiative and demonstrate empathy and understanding of the needs of the elderly.
