Sodbury Vale Society Ltd
Sodbury Vale Society Ltd offer sheltered housing to older people of retirement age in Chipping Sodbury. We are a small and personal society, run almost entirely by volunteers. Take a look.
Abbeyfield Sodbury Vale Society was founded in 1978, and we opened our purpose built house older people in Melbourne Drive in 1986.
Since then we have provided a home for over fifty residents, eight of whom have been with us for more than ten years - and one for more than fifteen.
We maintain the original Abbeyfield objective of providing a home for lonely elderly people and welcome especially those who would like to be part of our family for many years to come.
We are a small and personal society, run almost entirely by volunteers. Our employed staff, including our housekeeper, give much of their very loving and voluntary nature to the house and are a very important part of our organisation.
We fully understand the difficulty of making a decision to leave a home which has been yours for many years, and the need to downsize when moving into a single bed sitting room. But we feel that the benefits to be gained from the support, company and relief of worries in the long term far outweigh any short term disadvantages.
