Set in the quiet residential area of Alverstoke Village, Tamar House was given to Abbeyfield in 1956 and renovated in 2004. Our house offers sheltered housing in a home from home environment. We provide older people with companionship and security to help live life to the full.

Our detached house has seven studio rooms and one flat, plus a communal lounge, dining room, conservatory and garden. Pets are welcome at Tamar House and we also accept couples wishing to live together.

Here at Tamar we have the enviable reputation for providing an excellent standard of food and menu choices. Our housekeeper produces some of the most delicious cakes and her home cooking is second to none. Through regular meetings we obtain feedback from our residents who all say the standard of the food is excellent. 

Located just outside Gosport, our house has excellent linked to Portsmouth and the beautiful Stokes Bay. We are situated near to well-known supermarkets, a local church and local pubs.
