Located in the historic market town of Banbury, Abbeyfield House provides residents with a home from home with support all set in a friendly and peaceful atmosphere where residents can remain as independent as possible.
Built in 1991, Abbeyfield House consists of nine studio rooms all with a kitchenette and wet room. We have a beautiful conservatory, built with money donated by The Quakers, who were previous residents of the house, which overlooks our beautiful garden and is the perfect place to catch up with residents, family, friends or to sit quietly enjoying the view.
At Abbeyfield House, you’ll find a warm and homely house, where the residents and staff have formed a close community, are really welcoming and look out for each other. One thing about our house that makes us special is that you know that everyone will be looked after. Our dedicated, professional and caring staff spend time getting to know and listening to the residents.
Situated in an idyllic location, we’ve got excellent transport links with a bus route on the main road outside of the house which takes you into the town or nearby Oxford. We have a Sainsbury's supermarket just a couple of minutes walk away and a GP surgery and dentist also within walking distance. Local churches and pubs are less than a mile from the house as well as the train station, with trains going to London or Birmingham.
We have a lovely and spacious studio-flat size room available for rent. It overlooks a lovely little garden, enquire today.
I joined The Abbeyfield Society in 2010 as the House Manager at Abbeyfield House, and I am now the Senior House Manager in Oxfordshire. Working at Abbeyfield gives me the opportunity to meet so many people from different walks of life. Each day I learn so much from our residents about their interesting stories and laughter. I am so very proud of my staff and I enjoy working with them.”
I joined the Abbeyfield Society in 2014 having 30 years experience in the Care Sector. It feels like a second home, I love working at Abbeyfield House and I feel valued by my manager.
I joined Abbeyfield in 2014 as Housekeeper. I have been in the Care Sector for over 30 years. I love cooking homely tasty meals for our residents and I have so much laughter when we do quizzes on Thursdays. In my spare time I enjoy having my family around for dinner.
