Built in the centre of Tewkesbury more than 300 years ago, adjacent to the stunning Tewkesbury Abbey, a fine example of Norman architecture consecrated in 1121, Abbeyfield House is a small friendly home offering companionship from new friends or privacy when you want it.

You’ll find our house within three hundred yards of the centre of the independent market town in North Gloucestershire with excellent transport links. Tewkesbury lies just off the M5 with good railway and bus connections to Cheltenham and Gloucester, and a daily coach service to London and direct train links to Birmingham.

Abbeyfield House was previously a family home until it was converted to Abbeyfield requirements in 1971. We have five rooms, all of which are bed-sits with en-suite shower rooms. We are able to provide a selection of furniture for new residents, but encourage you to bring your own favourite pieces so you can make your room feel like home.

Spend time getting to know other residents in our beautiful conservatory enjoying outstanding views of the tower of Tewkesbury Abbey or relax in the sunshine in our lovely garden. At our home we like to come together for meals, getting to know each other by sharing stories and memories.

What makes our home special is the old world charm you’ll experience, but with all the modern facilities you need and our close proximity to the town centre shops. There is always plenty to do right on our doorstep. You'll discover wonderful shops, cafes, restaurants as well as a fantastic market on Saturdays and Wednesdays.

For those who enjoy sport, there is a Cricket Club close by and local Leisure Centre. You have the freedom to come and go whenever you wish and welcome your friends and family at anytime.

Abbeyfield House is managed by Abbeyfield Tewkesbury Society.
