Situated in the Wollaton area of Nottingham opposite the beautiful grounds of Wollaton Hall and the Deer Park, Middleton House is an attractive detached property built in 1935. The house offers 10 bedsits and a one bedroom flats, all with ensuite shower facilities.
We have an attractive communal lounge and dining room, assisted bathing facilities and kitchens on each floor. The house is set in beautiful gardens which gives you the opportunity to sit out and enjoy some fresh air or do a spot of gardening. Many of our residents enjoy planting seeds and caring for the flowers and shrubs that grace our gardens.
There are many shops nearby where you can purchase your daily essentials and with easy access to bus services, you can travel a little further should you wish to go into Nottingham City Centre and enjoy all it has to offer. There, you will find popular attractions such as the Lace Market and Nottingham Castle.
Here at Middleton House we regularly open our doors to the local community, giving people the chance to see what its like to live at an Abbeyfield House. We have created Sharing Sundays which gives guests the opportunity to join us for a delicious Sunday lunch.
There is always plenty to do here, with a warm and friendly atmosphere everyone enjoys getting together for activities and events. There are regular coffee mornings and outings, a monthly calendar of activities which includes film nights, painting classes and beetle drives.
A Holy Communion service is held monthly with larger events such as summer BBQs and cream teas are arranged throughout the year. All organised by the residents, staff and a team of volunteers.
I joined Abbeyfield in 2013 as a General Assistant, shortly after I took on the role as a Housekeeper and then Senior House Manager in 2017. I support four houses at Abbeyfield which I really enjoy as I have a lot of residents that I can spend time with. In my spare time I like to crochet or do some diamond painting and I love spending time with my family.
Joanne has been a valued member of the team for over 20 years. She is meticulous in her duties and takes pride in her job. She is always happy to support other staff members and the residents. She also has a great relationship with relatives, volunteers and other visitors to the house. Jo is enthusiastic and productive and you will not find a speck of dust when she is around.
Joylyn has worked for Abbeyfield for many years now covering a variety roles but her passion is cooking and the residents welfare. You can always hear laughter when Joylyn is around. Residents, relatives and volunteers all enjoy the high spirit that she brings to the house. Whether she is cooking delicious food or enjoying the garden with the residents, everyone is smiling. Joylyn is the backbone of Middleton House, we are very lucky to have her.
