At Abbeyfield Sycamore House, we are looking to recruit a Cook. We provide freshly cooked meals per day to our group of older residents. You will be responsible for cooking meals so that residents enjoy a varied and nutritious diet in accordance with their dietary requirements and nutrition and hydration needs.

At Abbeyfield we aim to maximise and improve the quality of life for every one our residents. You will need to be a great cook as part of your job role will involve preparing delicious meals for our residents, as well as managing materials and stock for the efficient running of the house. There will also be some administration involved for which training will be given.

The successful candidate will have a good understanding of the needs of older people, experience of working with the public and an ability to work under their own initiative. A Food Hygiene Certificate qualification would be desirable but above all you must care about making a difference to the lives of older people as much as we do.

You will assist in providing healthy and nutritious food for our residents. By keeping all kitchen and store areas clean and hygienic and following all hygienic practices you help protect our residents and keep them safe.

Meal times are really important to our residents and your role is crucial to making them as enjoyable as possible. You are committed to maintaining the highest standards in the kitchen, during the food preparation process and meal delivery.

Situated on a quiet residential street in Sherwood, Nottingham, Sycamore House is a popular 42 bed residential care home.
