Originally founded in 2011, Abbeyfield Societies in Scotland (ASiS) is a single society which provides some central support and coordination for the Abbeyfield Family in Scotland.

Sheltered Housing and Care Homes in Scotland are geographically spread across the country and managed by their individual committees. No two ASiS houses are the same but share one ethos: To make time and provide housing, support and companionship to older people.

As a charity we operate a not for profit model so that our focus is on providing quality accommodation, care and support for our residents.

All ASiS member houses and homes are regulated and inspected by the Care Inspectorate in accordance with Scottish regulations and standards. We also have to meet the requirements of the Scottish Social Services Council, the Scottish Housing Regulator and The Office of the Scottish Charities Regulator. Finally, we have a National Care Home contract that defines standards for the care and nursing home sector in Scotland, in conjunction with the Care Inspectorate.
