Darlington Society Ltd

Darlington Society is an autonomous charity affiliated to The Abbeyfield Society. It is our aim to ensure that you feel safe and secure and that this is YOUR home not A home.

The Abbeyfield Darlington Society was set up in 1970 by joint committees of the local Soroptimists and Rotary Clubs.

These clubs continue to offer help in the management of the society. It has benefited over the years from generous legacies from distinguished members of the community - Nora Fenby, Lady Starmer, Muriel Latimer, Thomas Earl and Miss Keelan.

Situated in the leafy area of Darlington's West End, Earl Keelan House offers two types of accommodation, either an apartment with a separate bathroom and lounge or bedsit rooms with access to communal bathrooms throughout the house. Our staff are extremely dedicated to Abbeyfield and embody the Abbeyfield ethos; always willing to go that extra mile for the residents.

J F Latimer House

Situated in the leafy road of Darlington's West End, J F Latimer House is situated in amongst the trees at the bottom of a private driveway. At J F Latimer House, you can remain independent whilst also staying part of the active and social community. We encourage our residents to decorate their rooms with their favourite pieces of furniture to make it feel like your home.
