Ripon & District Society Ltd

The Sheltered accommodation at Ripon is part of the Abbeyfield Society. Its aim is to offer older people sheltered housing while allowing them to remain as independent as possible.

Abbeyfield Ripon was opened in 1975, the building having been converted and renovated to make it a homely and friendly house. We have 8 studio apartments, and 2 one-bedroomed flats – all have en-suite facilities.

In 2011/12 the home was renovated including new carpets and decorations to communal areas and new kitchens in the flats, which consisted of a fridge, double hob, microwave, sink and storage units.

We are very close to the town centre and public transport. Local doctors can be found only a quarter of a mile away.

Abbeyfield House

We’re continually looking for ways to improve Abbeyfield House, ensuring it meets the changing needs of our fantastic group of residents. Over the past few years, we have carried out extensive work on the property including the addition of a car park, a new porch area and a new front door automatic entry system. We’ve added storage space for three mobility scooters and a covered charging point for them, as well as fitting brand new bathrooms and updating the dining area.
