Yarmouth Society

Abbeyfield Yarmouth Society opened the Coach House sheltered housing in January 1997, thanks to a generous donation from a local resident who wanted a retirement home to be set up for older people in Yarmouth.

The Yarmouth society operate as an independent house that is part of the national Abbeyfield movement. Abbeyfield was established by Major Richard Carr-Gomm in 1956 in response to the loneliness and isolation he found amongst older people in East London. Since then, Abbeyfield has grown to be one of the largest organisations in the voluntary sector serving the elderly, offering care and support across the UK.

Abbeyfield Yarmouth Society welcomes residents and guests from other Abbeyfield Society Homes, to come and stay with us for a holiday. We would be delighted for you to visit us and stay in our well appointed home, in heart of Historic Yarmouth. Yards from the sea and town centre in a 'home from home' location. Please call us for more information.
