Abbeyfield Buckland Monachorum Society provides sheltered housing for older people in the picturesque village of Crapstone, Devon.
The sheltered housing run by the Buckland Monachorum society was originally located in a house based in the village of Crapstone. Today’s home was specifically built, in 1992, to meet the support and care needs of its elderly residents.
The Buckland Monachorum society was lucky enough to be given the land as a very generous gift from the local residents. Along with the house the adjoining paddock was also donated to the society and is a fine feature to the home that the residents can enjoy.
The house, called Pilcher’s Field’s, will be celebrating its twenty first birthday on the 19th September 2013. Throughout the twenty one years the society has always remained an intrinsic part of the village and the community.
The house is set in some beautiful Cornish countryside, situated in a quiet residential crescent which overlooks fields and some very scenic views.
