About Lakeland Extra Care Society
Lakeland Extra Care Society was formed in 1978 when local Abbeyfield societies felt that some of their residents were becoming too frail for sheltered accommodation.
To avoid residents having to leave Abbeyfield's care, it was agreed to establish a residential care home which would give preference to existing Abbeyfield residents and would offer accommodation governed by the Abbeyfield ethos and standards.
Our philosophy is to enhance the quality of life for our residents. We are a registered charity and use any surpluses generated to improve our service and facilities.

Situated in the wonderful market town of Milnthorpe, Hartland House is a bright, light and spacious house that offers a friendly and caring environment which has been adapted to suit the needs of our residents and our local community.
