Hill House is a beautiful Georgian-style Country House once home to Lord and Lady of Sidmouth. Located in the rural location of Blackdown Hills overlooking the Otter Valley with stunning views of the beautiful Devon countryside.
We have 30 en-suite rooms, 12 on the ground floor and 18 on the first. Rooms which are part of the original building are generous in size and full of character. Each room has a private en-suite toilet and wash basin. Rooms are furnished however you can bring along your own furniture to create a home from home atmosphere if you wish.
For residents wishing to socialise or relax outside of their room we have a large comfortable lounge area and spacious dining room with conservatory, plus level access to our substantial grounds.
Completing our home is a hair salon available for residents use when they feel like a bit of pampering.
We have 24-hour support available with individual care plans for each resident and a call bell alarm system, giving you extra peace of mind. Our local Doctor and District Nurses visit regularly.
Home cooked meals are provided to all residents with meals planned to suit our residents tastes and meet any dietary requirements.
Although we are set in a rural location we have excellent links to Honiton, known for its antiques and lacemaking and Exeter, a stunning cathedral city full of restaurants, shops and attractions. The house is easily accessible by car, just a few minutes off the A30 with Honiton train station a short car journey away. In Honiton you will find a hospital right next to the station, plenty of local farm shops and places to enjoy a cream tea.
Parking for visiting guests is available.

We’re proud to offer respite stays at Hill House, a short-stay that can be planned ahead, or in the case of an emergency, last-minute. Suitable for individuals seeking support following post-operative or hospital care, or whilst their regular caregiver takes a break, respite care can also be used as a way of introducing long-term residential care to a loved one.
