Features
Located in the historical and pretty city of Cambridge, An Lac house was established in 1997, specifically created to provide sheltered housing for older Vietnamese residents, housing the cultural and social centre of the Cambridge Vietnamese community, providing a place where they can be supported with dignity within their own community.
We have ten spacious ground floor apartments, fully furnished with telephone and television sockets, en-suite facilities and kitchenette. We encourage all of our residents to bring their own furniture and personal items to make it feel like their home. Each room has access to their own beautiful patio area, overlooking the well-maintained gardens, with many residents choosing to grow their own vegetables and flowers.
An Lac is set close to the centre of Cambridge; the perfect destination to roam around the cobbled streets, peruse the local markets, watch some punting on the side of the river, enjoy a picnic on Cambridge’s stunning green spaces or explore the world famous university buildings. We have a number of local amenities nearby to An Lac House including a post office, shops, health centre and bus stop just outside the stunning front gates of the house.
For security and peace of mind, we have three Vietnamese staff members who provide a 24-hour service and staff take residents to their medical appointments. Our dedicated and caring staff prepare two delicious home cooked meals a day and can assist residents who need a little bit more support with their daily needs.
Spend time meeting with other residents, we have a communal lounge and dining room and an attractive garden which provides a peaceful place to sit and enjoy the sunshine or meet with family and friends.
An Lac is managed by Abbeyfield An Lac Community CIO.
