At Abbeyfield Tewkesbury Society we are totally committed to taking the loneliness out of old age.
Abbeyfield Tewkesbury is located in the thriving town of Tewkesbury. In 1964 the Council of British Archaeology listed it amongst 57 towns 'so splendid and so precious that the ultimate responsibility for them should be of national concern'.
The town is a living museum of architecture and social history spanning over 500 years. Abbeyfield House nestles in the shadows of the Abbey, just a short walk from the town centre.
Abbeyfield Tewkesbury opened in October 1971. The society is managed by an enthusiastic Executive Committee of volunteers, which meets regularly. A house committee oversees the day to day running of the house. A member of the committee visits the residents and housekeeper each week, giving them the opportunity to discuss any worries or concerns they may have.
As a registered charity, we are not motivated by financial surpluses or driven by shareholders. Our legacy is based on firm foundations: care is at the heart of the society and residents are always our priority. We are totally committed to taking the loneliness out of old age.
