Meet our staff

Meet our staff

Our hardworking staff are lucky to have a large diverse network of volunteers to depend upon. In particular, Abbeyfield The Dales has a strong ethos of providing support services across our services based on the good will of dedicated volunteers who provide an extra dimension to our services offered.

We have more than 80 volunteers who support and complement the sterling work of the trained care staff and the management team.

Through their commitment, we are able to meet the needs and requests of both the residents and staff alike.  





- Deputy manager

Jeanette is the deputy manager at Ing Royde and has been with Abbeyfield since the scheme reopened following extensive renovations. She has worked within the health and care sector for over 30 years including roles within Calderdale Council, private care homes and community care. Jeanette enjoys spending time with her family and socialising with friends.



- Senior care

Karen joined Abbeyfield shortly after the scheme reopened as a care assistant and took over the role as senior care in November 2014. Karen has worked within the care sector for over ten years. Karen enjoys reading, spending time with her family and socialising with friends in her spare time.



- Cook

Lorraine is one of the cooks at Ing Royde and joined the scheme towards the end of 2014. Her previous roles have included catering within the care sector. Her speciality dish is lamb thatch pie and in her spare time she enjoys baking cakes and making homemade chutneys and pickles.


Live musicOur activities coordinator arranges a number of activities on a regular basis, such as outings to the seaside, coffee mornings, visits from local animal charities, cake decorating, pottery decorating and exercise classes.
