Features
Situated in a wonderful location, within walking distance of Fareham town centre, Abbeyfield House offers older people security and companionship in later life. With our home being so close to the town centre, residents can walk to the bustling market town, and is also near to the beautiful area called Cams Hill and the mouth of the river Wallington, providing fabulous scenery and walking routes. For those wishing to travel further afield, we have a bus stop outside with buses to Portsmouth regularly passing the house for those wanting to explore the bright lights of the city and the seafront. Around the corner is a bus stop that will take you to Winchester.
There are plenty of restaurants in Fareham, a library, health centre, supermarket and shopping mall as well as a pedestrian precinct and a museum.
Built in the 1920s, Abbeyfield House is full of character with many of the original features, and is spacious as it is actually two houses which are joined together by a magnificent sun lounge which looks out onto the beautiful large garden.
We have 14 single flatlets rooms with kitchenettes and ensuite facilities and two flatlets with a lounge, kitchenette, ensuite facilities and a bedroom. We also have a guest room which is always available for any residents' visitors. Each room has double glazing, fitted wardrobes and thermostatically controlled radiators. The house has a utility room where residents can do some washing at their leisure.
Our sun lounge and garden are the perfect place for relaxing and enjoying the sunshine; meet up with family and friends and catch up with the other residents whilst enjoying wonderful views. The special quiet place in the house is the lounge which is a perfect spot for reading a book or listening to the radio. The other special area is the beautiful garden which we keep well nurtured with fantastic colourful blooms in the summer months. In fact, we recently won “Fareham in Bloom” gold medal for our stunning garden. OUr lovely patio is the perfect place to sit and look at our well kept gardens.
Discover delicious home cooked meals that are personally cooked from local produce, with residents often letting the House Keeper know their favourites. We love to celebrate birthdays and our house keepers are brilliant bakers and every resident has a birthday cake presented to them on their special day.
There is a welcoming family atmosphere where residents and staff all support each other. Everyone is an individual and we respect their privacy. We pride ourselves on an independent and personal service to our residents which is made unique by our dedicated team.
Our residents have chosen the meals which we use as a guide but if it is your birthday or you have a special request we will cook that meal for you.
We have a large double garage where electric scooters can be charged and stored as well as adequate parking for residents and their guests.
