Features
Located in the Upperton area, in Eastbourne’s old town, Lade House is a stunning converted cottage style property which offers eight studio rooms with en-suite facilities. In the house you’ll find it to be a light and airy home, with accessible gardens which back onto Gildredge Park, home to tennis courts, bowling greens and a beautiful rose garden.
You’ll find lots of things to do in the area; our house is within walking distance to the Beacon shopping centre, library and train station and is close to a bus stop with regular buses into the town. As a seaside town, we’re not far from Eastbourne seafront where you’ll find an array of Victorian hotels, its pier and bandstand, and stretches of beach from Sovereign Harbour to the east and Beachy Head to the west.
If you fancy doing something different, you’ll find Towner Art Gallery, which houses one of the most important collections of public art in the south of England, as well as a number of theatres including Devonshire Park Theatre, a Victorian theatre with ornate interior decorations, and The Royal Hippodrome, which runs the longest summer show in Britain, so you’ll find something to suit every interest.
Inside our home you’ll find comfort, companionship and security. Make new friends at our morning coffee meetings or during meal times; it’s an important time when our residents come together to catch up and having a chat, whilst enjoying great food and excellent company.
We like our residents to make decisions about the house, after all this is their home, so they help us to organise summer garden parties, as well as getting the chance to share and talk about their ideas at our regular house meetings.
Lade House is managed by Abbeyfield South Downs.
