Welcome to our house

Paddy Geere House is situated in North West Ipswich and was built in 1996 and extended in 2002.  The house consists of 32 one bedroom flats and 4 two bedroom flats.

Each flat has its own wet room, lounge/kitchen area and bedroom, all are wheelchair friendly.

Having our own kitchen on site ensures our chefs are able to provide a fresh lunch every day, catering for all dietary needs, we eat our lunch together.

We have an attractive enclosed garden, enabling tenants to sit outside and enjoy the fresh air and sunshine.

Laundry and hairdressing facilities are on site and we have regular visits from a chiropodist and nail technician.  We have a handyman on site who assists with repairs and a team of domestic staff who do basic weekly hygiene clean of your flat.

We have guest facilities for family and friends who wish to stay.

Abbeyfield management arrange many social events in our communal lounge for those who wish to socialise.

Housing 21 our care providers, are on site 24 hours to ensure our Tenants remain safe but retain their independence.

Paddy Geere House is managed by Abbeyfield Orwell Extra Care Society and Housing 21 are our 24hr in-house Care Provider.

Meet the team

Scheme Manager

I have worked here for over 20 years but every day is different. Knowing I can make a difference in assisting my Tenants to remain safe and independent gives me the greatest satisfaction. Being part of a successful working team is the best.

Deputy Manager

Part of my role as deputy is to organise our many social activities. I enjoy seeing how happy our Tenants are at our social events and knowing I have helped alleviate their loneliness. I feel I have made a difference.

I get the greatest satisfaction in creating lunch for our Tenants knowing it help them with their health and well-being. Eating lunch together improves everyone’s appetite.

Care Manager

As the in-house Care provider, Housing21 have worked in conjunction with Abbeyfield since Paddy Geere House opened – we are ‘family’! Some of my Carers have also been here since it opened and that goes a long way to demonstrate how committed we are and what a great place it is to work!
