Welcome to our house

Pirbright and District Society – welcome to Cunningham House

We are a small and friendly home located at the heart of the beautiful village of Pirbright with good transport links to nearby Woking and Guildford.  Our home is most suited to older people who:

  • like having the independence to live life as they choose,
  • want to enjoy the freedom from chores, household bills and the responsibilities of running a home,
  • appreciate the company of others,
  • enjoy nutritious, home-cooked meals each day, and
  • do not need nursing care but welcome the reassurance of knowing that someone is always on-site.

There are nine ground floor rooms at Cunningham House, each with direct access to a small private garden and the larger communal gardens beyond.  The rooms have ensuite toilets and wash basins, and some have a kitchenette too.  We are planning to improve the ensuite facilities starting in 2022, to include a shower.

Residents have a key to the main front door and to their own room so it is easy to come and go as they please.  With the local pubs, cricket on the green, church, clubs and societies, there is plenty in Pirbright to do, all within a short walk from Cunningham House.

Please contact us to arrange a visit so you can experience why people feel so at home at our House.

Cunningham House is managed by the Abbeyfield Pirbright and District Society.

Testimonials

I came to Cunningham House for a temporary stay only never to return home! I so enjoyed the camaraderie, home cooked food and warm welcome from the Pirbright community that I chose to stay. Now I wish I had moved here sooner.

Katie, resident at Cunningham House

The staff and food are outstanding. The other residents are friendly and interesting. Life here is made most carefree. The accommodation is very comfortable. My family and friends are all made most welcome. I am a resident of just a few months, but could not be any happier.

Ken, resident at Cunningham House

Let’s be honest, communal living isn’t always easy but the benefits of living here far outweigh the challenges of living home alone.

Helen, resident at Cunningham House

Cunningham House is very much in the heart of Pirbright – a fantastic asset that is hard to quantify. For 30 years we have been able to recruit an inspiring mix of paid staff and skilled volunteers who devote themselves to ensuring the residents are happy and fulfilled, feel safe and are truly valued as part of our village.
