Features
The Abbeyfield Loughborough Society has been providing care and support to the elderly of Charnwood since 1963.
We are a not-for-profit organisation and a registered charity and, as such, we reinvest in our homes, staff, and volunteers to make sure our residents are comfortable, safe, and happy.
We specialise in Dementia care and our aim is to prove a safe, dignified, and homely environment which promotes well-being in our residents. We follow the principles of person-centred care, seeing each resident as an individual with unique qualities, interests, preferences, and needs rather than simply focussing on their illness or abilities that they may have lost.
Our home comprises of two houses on the same site, Westfield House with 31 beds and the newly opened Ingleside House providing a further 33 beds.

Review from Terry S (Husband of Resident) published on 3 October 2023
Overall Experience: 5.0 out of 5.
My wife with Vascular Dementia entered Abbeyfield Loughborough new Ingleside House In February 2023. She has a spacious room and ensuite wet room. She is receiving careful and warm care from very kind teams. The large ground floor lounge and dining area is a welcoming and friendly place, with pleasant views out into the sensory garden. The food is well prepared. Residents are not expected to choose their cooked lunch from a written menu, but are offered the choices on two served-up plates. Beneath it all, Abbeyfield is constituted as a Charity, not as a business owned by financial interests with eyes on dividend payments. This charitable status shows itself in the ethos that oozes out of its work.

Abbeyfield Westfield Drive has overcome adversity by the recruitment of a dedicated hard-working manager and the retention of a team of loyal staff. The seniors and care staff are kind and compassionate even under the most difficult of circumstances. The catering staff offer an excellent variety of nutritional meals for residents and alternatives where possible. Residents rooms are kept clean and tidy and the laundry is done with great dedication. My mum has been a resident for 2 1/2 years and Abbeyfield was the best decision I made on her behalf. Abbeyfield has a warm and home-from-home feeling. The gardens are tranquil with sensory plants, architectural ornaments and seating areas which is beneficial to the residents and visitors. Activities are organised on a monthly basis for residents and family/friends are welcome to join in, so it's like one big family. In summary, I am more than pleased with the care my mum receives from a lovely dedicated team of staff that really do care about the residents.
Westfield House and Ingleside House are managed by Abbeyfield Loughborough Society Ltd.

Manager Response:
We’re pleased to report that during a targeted inspection in Feb, the CQC recognised the improvements made to the quality of our service. However, not all areas of the service were inspected so we are continuing to work with CQC to be reinstated as ‘good’. Since then, we’ve continued to undergo a significant transformation and have continued our commitment to ongoing improvements to enhance the quality of care throughout the home as demonstrated by the reviews from our residents’ families.
