We look forward to welcoming you to Pratt House.
Nestled in the scenic Chiltern Hills, surrounded by stunning greenbelt countryside, Pratt House is a dementia friendly care home situated on the outskirts of the vibrant market town of Amersham.
Set in its own beautiful grounds, in a quiet residential location, Pratt House has 29 en-suite rooms, many overlooking our attractive garden and surrounding fields. Some of our rooms are able to accomodate couples who wish to remain together.
Although we can provide furniture, we encourage you to bring your own furniture and personal items from home to customise your room and make it feel like home from the day you move in.
Completing our home is a communal lounge, salon and communal dining room where residents can enjoy three meals a day prepared by our fantastic catering team, Ian and Jane. If you have any specific dietary requirements our team will adapt menus to suit and liaise with you to make sure there is always something on the menu which you will love. Take a look at the range of delicious meals on our new menu.
We also have a spacious garden filled with beautiful flowers and ample seating so you can enjoy the fresh air and relax in the outdoors whilst catching up with family and friends. New this year is our summer house, a tranquil oasis in our garden, perfect for a spot of afternoon tea.
At Abbeyfield we have extensive experience caring for those with dementia and understand it can be a big change to move into a dementia friendly care home. That’s why we tailor our support to each individual, finding out what they enjoy and what approach to care works for them. This means we can continuously adapt our care plans if your needs change over time and ensure all of our residents continue to live meaningful and fulfilling lives. Our dedicated team of staff provide 24-hour care and many of our staff have been here for over 20 years meaning you get continuity of care and support.
Being part of the community is an important value for Abbeyfield and we have established excellent relationships with pre-schools, churches, GPs and district nurses.

Leah has worked at Pratt since August 2017 where she quickly progressed from Care Assistant to Head of Care. She enjoys a varied role building relationships with residents, relatives and staff. Leah is sympathetic and compassionate to the needs of all residents at Pratt House.
Celebrated 20 years’ service in 2021. Sandra assists in the daily running of the building, working alongside care assistants to ensure all residents receive quality, person centred care.
Ian has worked at Pratt House for 18 years and Jane for 12 years. They both cook quality homemade food. Fruit and veg are sourced from the local market and they enjoy cooking different cultured food on our country theme nights.
