About us

We are safely welcoming new residents at Pratt House, our residential care home in Amersham.

Our care home offers a relaxed, inviting environment, designed to provide comfort, security and enhanced wellbeing to all residents, as well as a range of benefits, exceeding your care expectations.

We look forward to welcoming you to Pratt House.

Our location

Nestled in the scenic Chiltern Hills, surrounded by stunning greenbelt countryside, Pratt House is a care home situated on the outskirts of the vibrant market town of Amersham.

Our home

Set in its own beautiful grounds, in a quiet residential location, Pratt House has 29 en-suite rooms, comprising of 26 rooms with a shower, toilet and sink and three with a toilet and sink. Many of our rooms overlook our attractive garden and surrounding fields. Some of our rooms are able to accommodate couples who wish to remain together. We also have an assisted bath where residents can bathe comfortably and safely.

Although we can provide furniture, we encourage you to bring your own furniture and personal items from home to customise your room and make it feel like home from the day you move in.

We have CCTV installed on site to provide an added layer of security and ensure the safety and wellbeing of our residents, staff and visitors.

Communal spaces

Completing our home is a communal lounge, salon and communal dining room where residents can enjoy three meals a day prepared by our fantastic catering team. If you have any specific dietary requirements our team will adapt menus to suit and liaise with you to make sure there is always something on the menu which you will love. Take a look at the range of delicious meals on our new menu.

We also have a spacious garden filled with beautiful flowers and ample seating so you can enjoy the fresh air and relax in the outdoors whilst catching up with family and friends. Our summer house arrived in 2021, a tranquil oasis in our garden, perfect for a spot of afternoon tea.

Support

At Abbeyfield we have extensive experience providing care and understand it can be a big change to move into a care home. That’s why we tailor our support to each individual, finding out what they enjoy and what approach to care works for them. This means we can continuously adapt our care plans if your needs change over time and ensure all of our residents continue to live meaningful and fulfilling lives. Our dedicated team of staff provide 24-hour care and many of our staff have been here for over 20 years meaning you get continuity of care and support.

Being part of the community is an important value for Abbeyfield and we have established excellent relationships with pre-schools, churches, GPs and district nurses.

Activities and events

At Pratt House we offer a varied activity schedule 7 days a week, a daily exercise class and other activities tailored to the likes and dislikes of our residents, including one to one time for those who prefer not to join in.

What our residents and their families say

Regulated by

Care Quality Commission

Pratt House

Manager response:

We are pleased to say that, during the last inspection, which took place in June 2021, CQC acknowledged the improvements that had been made to the quality of service in line with the action plan implemented following the previous inspection in 2019. Nonetheless, the overall rating for the service stayed the same and the CQC did not inspect all areas of the service. We have since restructured our services to improve quality and the home is undergoing a process of continuous improvement. We hope to be able to demonstrate the full extent of progress made by the manager and the staff team at the next comprehensive inspection.
