Somerset Society Ltd
We will support you in making your own decisions about how you want to live your life.
The Abbeyfield Somerset Society was founded in 1986. Since the beginning it has been open to anyone and has always received generous support from the Vale of Taunton Deane Rotary Club.
In 1995 we opened a dedicated dementia wing and the home has become very well respected in the area for its experience of dealing with residents living with dementia. We have a very clever system in place: we can move the door along the corridor and increase/decrease the number of rooms in the dementia wing according to demand.
In 2007 we extended the home, which consisted of 32 single rooms, to include six double apartments which have proved to be popular with married couples. We now have accommodation for 44 older people in total.
